Maria Mavroyannis, has over 25 years of practical knowledge and operational experience in the areas of finance/tax advisory, law, governance, and administrative management from the public, not-for-profit, and private sectors.
Maria began her career in Tax Policy with the Ministry of Finance. Before returning to Finance in 2014, Maria was the Executive Officer, Governance, Policy and Risk Management at the Toronto District School Board. She has also held senior executive positions in the public, not-for-profit and private sector organizations including Deloitte LLP, the Canadian Institute for Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Maria holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Ottawa. She holds a J.D. from the University of Ottawa Law School, after which she obtained her Master of Laws at Osgoode Hall Law School (Tax/Finance). She is a member of the Ontario Bar.
